Trip to Butterfly house
Days of spring filled with the first sunbeams of the year are the perfect time for trips to nature. On a hill called Height of friendship are located three tourist attractions worth leaving the city: lookout Diana, Butterfly house and a mini zoo. In case you would like to have a more sporty trip, climb up the hill by tourist routes, but you can also use the funicular starting directly in Karlovy Vary.
As the title suggests, Butterfly house contains a tropical garden filled with exotic butterflies. Butterflies come from all parts of the world, for example from the South America, Thailand or Mexico, and there are 300 of them in the garden. They will be flying above your heads during your walk through the house and maybe even allow you to pose with them for a picture.
Butterflies aren’t the only animals to be encountered at the Height of Friendship. Near to the butterfly house there is a mini zoo with ponies, pigs and goats and three peacocks wonder freely around the area.
The lookout Diana was built over hundred years ago. it’s top offers an amazing view of the hills surrounding the lookout and of Karlovy Vary nearby. To get to the top you can use the elevator or just climb up the 150 stairs.
Further information about entrance fees and opening hours are to be found at the website of the Diana complex.
