Church of St. Mary Magdalene
If you go to the center behind the famous Vřídlo, do not miss the church of St. Mary Magdalene. The temple was originally built in the Gothic style, but due to the bad conditions it had to be rebuilt in the style of the High Baroque. It became National Cultural Monument in 2010. You can enjoy its beautiful interior during worship and concerts.
The Orthodox Church of Sts. Peter and Paul
Have you visited an Orthodox church before? From the colonnade near Vřídlo take a slow walk to the church of St. Peter and Paul in the Westend district of Karlovy Vary. It only takes a couple of minutes from the hotel Iris. The church, which was completed at the end of the 19th century was inspired by a Byzantine-Old-Russian temple. It is accessible daily from 9am to 6pm. If you are interested in worship, go there on Sunday at 10am.
The Anglican Church of St. Lucas
In the Westend district you will also find the exceptional Neo-Gothic church of St. Lukáš with a combined wooden and brick dome and magnificent windows of stained glass. For the current exposition of wax figures and contemporary photographs, movies and attractions, you can visit the church from 10 am to 7 pm daily.
